This year’s theme was: “The right to be heard — change is born from voices that refuse to whisper.” This year, 600 participants from different countries attended the conference. Our students represented the United Kingdom and Russia as a group of 3 jury members, 4 delegates, and 1 chair.
In line with the key objectives of our school project — Reading, Writing and Communicating in the 21st Century and Openness to the World and Others — this experience allowed our students to apply their knowledge in an interdisciplinary context. They discovered the richness of intercultural dialogue and felt proud to represent their school and their country.
Let us now hear some of our students’ opinions about this experience:
As members of the MUN club, composed of seven students, we had the opportunity to participate in the 19th edition of RIMUN, held in Rome, Italy. Beyond the enchanting scenery of the city, its ancient sites, and its Roman heritage, this experience was unforgettable for all of us. This year, we attended the conference with three jury members sitting at the International Court of Justice, four delegates representing Russia and Ukraine on humanitarian, social, and environmental issues, and one chair leading the CESCR committee, focused on social matters. All members of our club took on important roles and actively participated in the conference. Through discussions on a wide range of topics, we learned a great deal and had the opportunity to discover different perspectives and cultures. Moreover, thanks to the efforts of Şan Tekdemir, we had the honor of winning third place in the GA1 committee and second place in the CCPCJ committee. The fact that the conference was highly demanding, international, and prestigious made these achievements even more rewarding for us.

The excursions, the team, and the rich history of the places we visited were all wonderful. And our stay with host families? The bonds each of us formed with our host family were unique. We shared every moment with them, and they introduced the one-of-a-kind Italian cuisine to us. Together, we shared tears, fears, regrets, but also bursts of laughter.
From March 18 to 30, thanks to this extraordinary trip, we had the opportunity to discover another side of the world. The word “fun” is not enough to describe what we experienced. I think this kind of trip brought us even closer together. We truly became a family.

“This was an unforgettable experience. We all learned so much. Staying with host families and meeting such wonderful people we can stay in touch with made this experience even more special. In addition, thanks to our exceptional tutor, Mr. John, we learned a great deal about the history of Rome and took part in many enriching visits. Finally, representing our school at an international conference and having the opportunity to meet inspiring people was a truly valuable and impressive experience.”

“It was a truly enriching experience. I improved my MUN skills and had the opportunity to live many new experiences. I am very happy to have made new friends. Rome is a very historic city, and I think it is very valuable to learn more about its history.”
